Your Support has never been more needed. We have appreciated all the financial support we have been given, but campaigns like ours always need more help. That is why we have created the BATTLE Lottery.
It only costs £2 to enter and you stand a chance of winning 20% of that months lottery income. The remaining 80% will be used to support our legal campaign to overturn what appears to be an extremely flawed appeal decision.
You can have as many entries as you like. Most people have a regular monthly Standing order so you don't have to worry about buying your tickets each month.

| BATTLE LOTTERY RULES (approved by Battle on 12 October 2005) |
1. The primary objective of the Lottery is to raise money to support BATTLE.
2. The Lottery is a Society Lottery and will be run in accordance with the Lotteries and Amusements Act 1976.
3. The Promotor of this Lottery is Mr. N. Yates of Tealcroft, Bridgemans Lane, Tillingham CM0 7SL, who is a member of BATTLE and has been authorised by BATTLE to operate this Lottery in support of BATTLE. The Promotor is permitted to engage other members of BATTLE to assist in the administration of the Lottery.
4. A lottery draw will take place on the 27th of each month, the first such draw to be on 27th December 2005.
5. Each entry to the draw will cost £2 payable by standing order on the first of each month for participation in that month’s draw. Accordingly, the first standing orders will commence on 1st December 2005. Participants will be given a unique Participant Number and may purchase any number of entries. [If circumstances require, a draw may be postponed by no more than 3 days.] The draw will be conducted by a person chosen by the Promotor, who will not themselves participate in the draw, but who may be a member of BATTLE. The mechanics of the draw will ensure that it is conducted fairly and such that the winner is picked entirely at chance.
6. The Lottery is open to any person over age 16.
7. In each month, for each entry fee received, BATTLE Lottery will allocate an individual Entry Number comprising the appropriate Participant Number suffixed with a, b, c as necessary. Each Entry Number will then be entered into that month’s draw. A list of the entrants and their respective Entry Numbers for each draw will be maintained. No refund of payments already made will be given but Participants may increase, reduce or cancel their standing order in respect of future draws at any time. The number of the winning Participant will be announced in the Maldon and Burnham Standard in the week following each draw.
8. Under no circumstances will cash payment for entry be accepted.
9. There shall be one prize in each month of 20% of the net takings (after administration costs). The remaining monies will be transferred to BATTLE general funds, to be held for BATTLE general purposes.
10. Prize money shall be paid by cheque only, made out in the name of the account holder named on the relevant standing order.
11. The Lottery is registered with Maldon District Council and all necessary returns will be made as required by law.
12. The Lottery shall have its own bank account at Barclays, High Street, Burnham on Crouch, Account number 00505854 Sort Code number 20-54-30. This account will only be used to operate the Battle Lottery and payments will only be made from that account in accordance with these Rules. The bank account mandate shall specify that at least 2 signatures are required to effect withdrawals from the account.
13. Entry forms and standing order forms are available from Bradwell and Tillingham Post Offices.
14. These rules may be amended by BATTLE at any time to meet the requirements of the legislation, Maldon District Council or to improve the satisfactory operation of the Lottery. Any such changes will be notified to Participants as soon as practicable.
